Holy Death Bio 2006
From the burning old temples, ruins and cinders, cemetaries of human oblivion, arise the One, once thrown down.- He opened the gates, to set free obedient hordes of the fallen angels that turned into the ones, who are full of hatred against the crogb ss: symbol of human misery and lies. They stood by the side of the One who brings the light, to administer the justke to worm-eaten heaven. To heaven, that hide rotting souls and naked bones of Christian villains, wUI come the fear and bloody massacre...
From the blasphemy grapes of wrath, from black eons, thunders and clouds of sins, came the Ghost... He walked through the tombs of the .old faith, made Christian's springs dry and warmed bis hands in the flames of stake of dying saints. The Ghost announced the darkness, and the light in darkness... He glittered like a morning star of luciferic enlightenment, crushed down the giant ones, died and reborned, and the HOLY DEATH rised like a fenix from the ashes.
In the Anno Bastardi 1989, after the recording of GLADIATOR'S debut demo ..Eternal Torment" two members decided to create the most dark and evil hellish horde, named HOLY DEATH. For a long time HOLY DEATH had two members only: Necronosferatus (vocals and keyboards) and Apocalyptic Hellhammer (guitars and drums). This line up recorded debut demo tape ..Megiddo" in 1993. After four years in 1997 tape was re-released with brand new artwork and bonus tracks as ,,Sodomy Of Megiddo". First version was published by Night Metal Records and the second one by Equilibrum Of Noise Productions.
At the beginning of 1994 third member joined the band: bassist Asphodelus of BATTLE HYMN. Together with him, band recorded second tape titled ..Abraxas" (Baron Records 1994). Next year both tapes were re-released in United States on a bootleg CD titled ,31ack Inquisition". In 1996 Rip Records'released the ^Apocalyptic War" CD (actually it was the ..Abraxas" tape with new artwork by Ryszard Niec), material that was not officially distributed in Europe. In 2004 Redrum Records released official remastered version of it, with the US cover version. The same label will release debut demo tape as a CD.
Before recording of the debut album ..Triumph Of Evil" (1996), Apocalyptic Hellhammer left the band, and was replaced by Daren from BLADE OF THE SWORD (drums) - Asphodelus played both bass and guitar parts. Another new member was Exterminas (keyboards, from UNKNOWN DIMENSION, PORTAINFERNA). In the same year Baron Records released the album in tape format, and the CD version was out on Head Not Found: sadly it was unauthorised release with tons of mistakes... Anyway it was an important event in band's history, as it was the very first Polish Black Metal production released in Norway. In the year 2003 official re-release was out on Under The Sign Of Garazel Records: with bonus tracks, and limited to 666 handh/ numbered copies.
After the release of ..Triumph Of Evil" Asphodelus left the band. His place was filled by Vexatus of BLADE OF THE SWORD: in this new line up band recorded the JJvil" tape (1997). Tape included both own tracks and MAYHEM cover tune ,,The Freezing Moon". After many problems with labels from both Poland and other countries, band decided to release new material at own cost as a tape. ,,EviT was published on a split release with UNKNOWN DIMENSIONS which was added for free into DIABOLICAL ART MAGAZINE. After recording Daren left the band to concentrate on his project BLADE OF THE SWORD. His place was taken by Saryricon of DEATH SEA, but soon he was also replaced by Atre of PLUTON. Two new members also joined the band: Mortimer Neat (guitar) and Berserk Btacksoul (bass guitar) - both from LACRIMA. At the end of 1999 HOLY DEATH recorded bunch of demo tracks, and one of them was placed on the ..Diabolical Art Underground" CD, that was included in the DIABOLICAL ART MAGAZINE. In this line up HOLY DEATH played several gigs and shared the stages with bands such us VESANIA, CROMM CRUACH, D1ACHRONIA and many others.
In February of 2001 Atre left the band and the old member Daren was sitting again behind the drum kit. 18.03.2001: HOLY DEATH enters the DBX Studio in Warsaw, to record the new album ..Forever Burning Ashes" CD included brand new material, MOTORHEAJD cover song ..Killed By Death", JBviT EP and 3 rehearsal tracks from 1994. ^Forever Burning Ashes" incl. 13 hellish hymns. Total playing time: 66 minutes and 6 seconds! Album was recorded with 2 session musicians: Jacek Midnicki (Keyboards) and Krzysztof Pieczona (guitar). Band did small promo tour, and the concerts got a great feedback from the fans. Sadly still no label showed interest in the band. Because of mat. Neat left the band and soon after him: also Berserk. For some time HOLY DEATH turned into studio project only. At the end of 2001 forever Burning Ashes" is finally out on CD, through Necronosefratus' own label Luciferus Art Productions (it was actually 2nd release of this brand new label - the first one was CD ..Seven Gates Of Hell Ecstasy" from PORTA INFERNA - ezoteric side project of Necronosferatus and Exterminas).
HOLY DEATH continued to create new tracks, and in the end of July '02 entered the TR Sound Studio to record material for 2 planned MCD releases: ,,Luciforus Invincible" and... nGod Of Thunder", recorded under the name CHAINS OF FIRE. This another band actually included all the HOLY DEATH members, but the sound was different: mix of classic Heavy Metal and Black sounds, called Jieavy Metal From Hell". Sadly session members didn't show much interest in both projects, and left the band when the contract with record company showed up. CHAINS OF FIRE finished activity, but in the beginning of 2004 both materials were released through Luciforus Art Productions on a limited CD format From the ashes of the old band DEATH FROST, Necronosferatus and Daren created new band named DEADLY FROST. Their music was a mixture of HELLHAMMER, CELTIC FROST and BATHORY sounds, and quickly turned into fast and energetic Black Metal. Band changed their name into KRIEGSMASCHINE, but after the first demo ..Flagrum" Necronosferatus left the band, to concentrate on majestic and even more heavy HOLY DEATH.
In 2004 HOLY DEATH welcomed new member: Goolary of HELLJAS and CEMETARY OF SCREAM. After few months of hard work band record full lenght material (13 tracks) titled ,,The Knight, Death And Devil". Except own tracks, also BATHORY, ACCEPT and HELLIAS covers were recorded. Final mix was done by M. of KRIEGSMASCHINE. The CD was released by Fallen Angel / Luciforous Art Production in 2005. It was followed by the 5-track promo sent to labels. The band has the 2nd mix done by Goolary, which was thought to be used for LP, with 2 additional tracks. It was supposed to be released by Valhalla Records, but the deal isn’t closed yet and the band is still looking for a label. The band has recorded 6-track material, which we thought to use for a split with SABBAT, but we still haven’t found a label. It was supposed to be released by GoatowaRex, but it didn’t work out, so if anybody’s interested – feel free to get in touch.. On 10th May 2006 a “Tribute to WASP” compilation was released, Holy Death is featured there with the track “Running Wild on the Street”. . HOLY DEATH is also looking for a record company interested in "The Knight, Death And Devil" (to be released in both CD and LP format). In Autumn Holy Death will record a brand new material, and during the summer, if any gigs will take place, they will probably be recorded and featured as the first official live release. At the moment we don’t have a full line-up for live performances, we’re still looking for a guitarist and a bassist, who could join Holy Death as full-time members.
